For years, I thought having a clean home meant using strong products.
One cleaner for the kitchen. Another for the bathroom. Something for the floors. Something else for glass. Laundry products, dish soap, sprays, disinfectants — the list kept growing.
At the same time, I had been dealing with migraines for more than 20 years. When I discovered essential oils and started paying more attention to what I was using for my own wellness, I also became much more curious about the products I was using every day in my home.
I started reading labels.
As I started reading labels, I realized how many cleaning products contained ingredients and strong synthetic fragrances I didn't really want to use around my family every day. I became more conscious of what I was spraying on our counters, washing our floors with, and breathing in while I cleaned. I wasn't trying to create a perfectly “toxin-free” home — I simply wanted to reduce unnecessary exposures where I could.
What am I actually bringing into my home every day?
That question changed a lot for me.
I began replacing products little by little — not because I wanted a perfect home, but because I wanted simpler choices that I felt good about using around myself and my family.
And eventually, my cleaning cupboard became much simpler.
That's one of the reasons Thieves Household Cleaner became such an easy swap for me. Around the house
I use Thieves Household Cleaner for many of my everyday cleaning jobs.
In the kitchen, I use it on appropriate washable surfaces after cooking and preparing food.
In the bathroom, it makes those quick sink and counter cleanups easy.
And throughout the rest of the house, I use it wherever the surface is appropriate for the cleaner.
For me, creating a healthier home isn't about being perfect or replacing everything overnight. It's about making one better choice at a time — and this was one of the easiest places for me to start.
