Frankincense Essential Oil 

Frankincense is considered the “holy anointing oil” in the Middle East and has been in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. It was well known during the time of Christ for its anointing and healing powers and was one of the gifts given to Christ at His birth. 

Used to treat every conceivable ill known to man, frankincense was valued more than gold during ancient times, and only those whit great wealth and abundance possessed it. It is mentioned in one of the oldest known medical records, Ebert Papyrus (dating from the 16th century BC) an ancient Egyptian list of 877 prescriptions and recipes.




Frankincense essential oil it’s known for its antitumoral, immunostimulant, antidepressant, and muscle-relaxing benefits. As well as stimulating the limbic system of the brain and the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary glands. 
 
Frankincense contains monoterpenes which are responsible for many benefits. Monoterpenes are supportive and enhance the therapeutic effects of other components in oil, they are not usually the source of flavor, but they balance, organize, and are the peacemakers. 

Today, Frankincense is used for meditation and to promote healthy skin.
 
Ways to Use Frankincense:

Diffuse Frankincense essential oil in a nebulizer, diffuser, or ultrasonic diffuser. Use 4-5 drops at once with or without other oils. 

Add Frankincense oil to diffuser jewelry and smell it during the day when you need peace and mind. 

Sniff Frankincense oil directly from the bottle every day to support your immune system. 

Add 1-3 drops of Frankincense in your palm, rub your palms together, and bring them to your nose. Inhale 6-7 x, it’s grounding and uplifting. Make it a ritual every morning to start your day. 

Add a couple of drops to your pillow at night to breathe in for better sleep.

Add 10 drops of Frankincense oil to 1oz of your favorite moisturizer (add 5 ml of Lavender). It helps to improve the tone and the texture of skin. 

Use 1-2 drops of Frankincense oil on the temples and back of the neck to improve concentration. 

Apply 1-3 drops of Frankincense oil on each foot to strengthen the immune system. 

Apply 1-3 drops of Frankincense oil to your wrist and neck if you feel overwhelmed to help you boost your mood. 

Add 5 drops of Frankincense essential oil to a cup of Epson Salt to promote relaxation after a busy day. 

Add 1-2 of Frankincense oil to 1 tsp of carrier oil and massage neck and temples. Use it after a busy day to promote relaxation. 

Add 4-5 of Frankincense essential oil in a diffuser when you practice yoga or stretch at home to help lift your spirit and make you feel grounded. 

Add 2 drops of Frankincense oil to rosehip oil and rub over the stretch marks, sunspots, and fade scars two times per day.
 
Rub 2-3 drops of Frankincense essential oil over breasts and lower abdomen every day. 

Dilute 1 drop of Frankincense oil in 1 tsp honey or milk and ingest daily for healthy maintenance. 
 

Young Living has two types of Frankincense
- Frankincense
- Frankincense Plus/ Vitality (the white label- for dietary/internal use)
It’s the exact oil in both bottles, but products need to have the label standard for dietary or topical use.
